“The essence of sin is man substituting himself for God, while the essence of salvation is God substituting himself for man. Man asserts himself against God and puts himself where only God deserves to be; God sacrifices himself for man and puts himself where only man deserves to be.” (Stott)
just thought it nice to share this with you.
I think our primary focus needs to be on Christ.
But of course, studying sin can guide us to Christ too.

Sin is not something you commit, it is the condition that you are in.
How well do I realize my sinfulness?
I think it can be proportional to my understanding of the Gospel.
